Sarah Song Xiaran is a new media artist currently based in London. After earning a degree in Film and Media Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, she is now pursuing an MFA in Computational Arts at Goldsmiths.
Sarah’s practice lies at the junction of the natural world, sound as well as visuals. She works in a variety of media and most of her artworks aim to explore the creative relationships and possibilities between nature and digital technology and to find poetic meaning in everyday life. Always fascinated by the macroscopic world and by the concepts of minimalism and surrealism, she believes mystery reveals itself to us through nature and time. She loves to experiment with patterns, texture and mixed media in order to share her vivid imagination. Iridology and biometric data sonification are the focus of Sarah’s recent research and she tries to provide her audience with a unique personal experience in unexpected ways.
