Carolina Mejía Niño (Stockholm, 1987)
Degree in Architecture from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, she completes her training in Barcelona and San Sebastián; accompanying his professional studies with art.
Her work focuses on oil painting, acrylic, and engraving; constantly exploring the reinvention of traditional techniques by introducing copper and bronze as constant protagonists of the process.
Her work reflects not only an enjoyment for the artistic exploration being the human expressions the great protagonists, but also the form of construction of the pieces leaves in evidence the vision of an architect. Her work focus on portraits that reflect human feelings, claiming different collectives.
Carolina knows that it is necessary to know the life, the needs, the history of the cities and their people to get infected, initially each one and then infects others with the importance of coexistence. It is not possible to continue working individually. We must be aware of the needs and existence of others, we must evolve from living individually to co-living.
Through her profession and art that is pleasurable and life-giving, leads us to rituals of participation that can support the movement towards coexistence. Her work is a world of faces, expressions, and creation of colors that provide energy for the development of a collective consciousness.
