It is an oil painting on canvas of 2017. This work is painted with only primary colours (red, blue, yellow) and white.
It represents my 7 years old daughter dreaming by watching the sea on a late July afternoon. At this time she used to say me, she wished to be a mermaid.
That is why the title of this work is "Wish to be a Mermaid"
I love it because, when I look at it, I can still feel the warm sun and the wind of this beautiful Italian region named Puglia and hear the laughter of my children playing on the shore. It is a diary page of that holiday I enjoyed so much.
I love it also, because, even if portrayed on back, she is totally recognizable!
