    In this painting, two children look at the sea from the shore in a winding day at Santa Caterina (Puglia). "Ciao!" is an italian expression to greet, when you meet and when you leave as well. So this painting can be interpreted according to two different visions. "Hello sea!" say the children to the sea at the beginning of their vacation, or "Bye bye sea!" at the end of their holiday ... they will meet again next year!
