The focus of my art and sculpture examines man’s complex relationship with nature and reveals elemental forces such as gravity, growth and optical illusion through manipulating kiln-formed glass and other materials.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay area in California with a background in graphic design, Lisa Pettibone is based in the UK where she attained 1st class degree in 3D Design in Glass at UCA Farnham in 2005. In 2012 she produced two sculptures for the National Trust at Lacock Abbey Gardens relating to pioneering photographer Henry Fox Talbot. In 2013 she was shortlisted for the National Open Art Prize and commissioned by Unravelled Arts to produce a site specific glass piece for the Tudor house The Vyne, a National Trust Property near Basingstoke. Her work appeared in the Corning Museum of Glass New Glass Review in 2014 and she was included in the prestigious Discerning Eye Exhibition, at the Mall Galleries, London in 2015. She teaches glass-making courses from her studio in Surrey and was invited to teach at the International Festival of Glass UK in 2015. In 2016 she will begin a two year MA in Art and Science at Central Saint Martins University in London.
