  • Description

An abstract pattern created in graduating blue and green squares of hand-dyed sycamore veneer. The piece was conceived as a contemplation on the colour blue to give a calm and contemplative image.

The picture is made from squares of hand dyed sycamore veneer bordered by fumed burr oak which has a deep brown tone and an open texture. The composition is made by softening the layers of wood veneer and then pressing them together. As they slowly dry, the veneers distort, split and twist forming a unique and unrepeatable image.

The composition is wall hanging from a single cord on the back.
