Through painting, I regain an immense access to the power of imagination. This two-dimensionalitiy of my works can lead to a third dimension by just intense reflection. I love to carrie the viewer into my world of paintings.
I am a Swiss artist with Spanish heritage. I developed an early interest in arts and in particular paintings, inspired by my father’s work with oil colour. After visiting the School of Applied Arts in Basel where I broadened my artistic skillset, I fully devoted myself to my young family and only occasionally engaged in painting. In the last 10 years, I experienced a Comeback. Just recently, I won a design competition from a big insurance company and was able to present my artwork at many different local exhibitions. My works are abstract acrylic paintings both on canvas and on paper. I rarely start with a concept, but rather with colors and surfaces. What is created during the process of painting and what emotions does it trigger in me? Is it something familiar or something unknown? Sometimes I accentuate certain elements with black, that one would otherwise not notice. Later these are neutralized through further layers of paint. That way, a painting emerges or develops, that is part of my inner world.
