I take inspiration from everyday life, from a perspective that frees me from impositions and clichés. In this surreal, ironical dimension I endeavour to unveil some of the complexity of the reality that lies beyond the first glance.
Daniele Ravizza is an Italian artist, born in the Lombardy region, not far from Milan. In his work, he explores the possibilities of a range of artistic media, including painting, iron and wood. In its current form, his work stems from the need to look beyond the traditional portrait. The Outsider captures moments of life in a wooden sculptural form, from a new and unusual point of view, as if from below a glass plane. Reflecting upon life from this new perspective detaches us from shape and subject, and translates into a reflection on freedom from impositions and clichés. In this surreal – sometimes ironical – dimension, far from any form of control, the unconscious and the realm of dreams inspire new and original feelings and thoughts. Looking at what lies beyond the first glance, the complexity of a reality that is not immediately perceivable can be revealed.
Ravizza's debut took place at Arte Padova in late 2016. Since then, he has exhibited in different shows and events both in Italy and abroad, among which:
